Blaire & Jason's Wedding

In early June, we headed to the Seattle area to join Blaire, Jason, and the rest of Kelley's family for their wedding. Tilly, our dog, was much better after a recent health scare, so we decided to leave her at home. The drive was long (10 hours), but we took a slightly different route and avoided all the 5pm traffic. Our destination was La Conner, WA, a cute little town near the water. We arrived around dinnertime and met Bill, Fran, Jason, and Kinley at the La Conner Brewing Company for dinner. Then it was on to our Airbnb near the wedding venue at Hope Island Beach Club. The house, arranged by Fran, overlooked the water and was really something special.

Friday was to be a full day of setup at the wedding location. Jason was cooking dinner for 140 people and offered quite the spread: crab, steak, chicken, a wide range of appetizers, and side dishes. It was amazing. Sadly, it was a rainy, windy day on and off, but that didn't stop everyone from having a great time.

Saturday morning brought more last minute setup, and by early afternoon the wedding party and attendees had arrived. The theme was Coastal Chic, and the number of blue blazers and dresses were absolutely off the charts. Everyone looked amazing. The ceremony was really nice, a perfect mix of heartfelt dedication, humor, and inside jokes. Kelley had a small part where she read a poem from Sex and the City. Afterwards, the DJ did an excellent job engaging the crowd and playing everyone's favorite tunes. The celebration lasted well past dark. Blaire and Jason really planned a spectacular event.
