Kannapali
We just wrapped up an incredible month-long trip to Maui. The adventure started in Kaanapali where we celebrated Bill's 80th birthday with family at the Sheraton Maui Resort. We explored the Road to Hana, visited the Iao Needle, watched whales breaching off the coast, and spotted sea turtles at Ho'okipa Beach. After a week of family time and resort living, we said goodbye to everyone and headed south.

Kihei
The middle stretch in Kihei was completely different. We traded the resort for a simple condo across from the beach and slowed way down. No car, just walking everywhere, sitting by the pool, catching sunsets, and living local. We kept costs down by cooking at home, though we splurged a couple of times. It was the perfect reset after the busy first week.

Wailea
The final week got seriously upgraded when we joined Scott and Carie and moved to an incredible oceanview villa in Wailea. This place beat even the neighboring Waldorf Astoria and Four Seasons. Despite a few days of yucky weather, we explored amazing restaurants and beautiful beachside locations. The highlight may have been our snorkel trip when three humpback whales, including a calf, came within 50 feet and dove right under our boat. We could hear them singing through the hydrophone, and my GoPro captured their songs even while we snorkeled at Turtle Town. We ended the trip perfectly with sunset drinks, and a 17 layer chocolate cake. Can't wait to return!
